St Columb homes

mark a milestone

Coastline Housing officially opened a development of 26 new homes in St Columb, one of which included the local housing charity’s 5000th affordable home in Cornwall.

The scheme which Taylor Lewis were heavily involved with, acting as EA, Clerk of Works (Technical Advisor) and Principal Designer, in St Columb comprises 15 homes for affordable rent and 11 shared ownership homes.

Properties in this development feature Coastline’s enhanced biodiversity measures. This means that bee bricks, bat and bird boxes and hedgehog holes have been installed across the scheme.

Residents have moved in, and in time for Christmas in their new homes.

Retrofit

Division

Strengthened

At Taylor Lewis we are focused on the decarbonisation agenda and are helping our clients understand costing issues around zero carbon through building up cost models for a variety of construction types and technological solutions.

We have Retrofit Coordinators who are ready to assist our clients to achieve the PAS2035 standards in their properties. Our team will oversee the assessment, monitoring and evaluation of energy efficiency measures within domestic properties.

This month we strengthen the Taylor Lewis Retrofit division with three members of the Team coming to the end of their studies of the NOCN Level 2 Award in Domestic Retrofit (RQF), three Clerk of Works colleagues completing the NOCN Level 4 Award in Domestic Retrofit Assessment and our Project Coordinator Shannon who is starting her Level 3 Award in Domestic Retrofit Advice who will unravel the complex process of retrofit and make it less uncomfortable and a more achievable outcome for residents.

Taylor Lewis turns 30!

Happy Birthday to us !
November 2022 marks 30 years in business for Taylor Lewis having grown from a single office when it was founded in autumn 1992 in Exeter, to now four offices across the South West and Wales and employing over 45 staff. We have achieved a steady and sustainable growth over the last three years and we place the culture and values of the company at the heart of this growth.
As the firm has grown, investment in team members through leadership development and internal promotions has generated a breadth of talent at every level in the company. Clients return to Taylor Lewis as we provide exemplary services across our multi-disciplinary team who pride themselves on the professional ethics set out as members of the RICS.
Despite the challenges of the last few years, Taylor Lewis has continued to grow in terms of headcount, turnover and depth and diversity of services. The recent shortlisted status for the UK RICS Outstanding Surveying Team of the Year representing the South West reflects the team’s hard work dedication and integrity in their roles, and although we didn’t win, it remains a significant achievement for Taylor Lewis.
Now lets celebrate and eat some cake!

30th Anniversary Its a Knockout Celebrations

Taylor Lewis chose to mark their important 30th milestone by organising a ‘It’s a Knockout’ extravaganza for clients, stakeholders and key contacts at Winslade Park, Exeter. Teams of 8 from representing organisations battled against giant inflatable games and activities, recreating the fun of the whacky TV show!

Robin Jackson, Managing Partner and Owner of Taylor Lewis stated,
“The success of the organisation is built on strong foundations and would not have been possible without the support of our clients and partners and the unfailing commitment of our team especially during the unexpected challenges of the last few years. Congratulations to all the past and current members of staff who contributed to achieving this important milestone”.
