Charity Partner for 2024

January 2024

Charity Partner for 2024 is

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)

Taylor Lewis is supporting CALM – Campaign Against Living Miserably, the mental health and suicide support charity, as its official charity of the year.

Taylor Lewis  employees, who have raised tens of thousands of pounds for previous charity partners, voted to support CALM for 2024 to help in the charity’s efforts to provide support and advice for anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts and those that are struggling.

Dealing with mental health in the workplace is a priority for Taylor Lewis and, in 2022, the company trained some of its employees as Mental Health First Aiders, who are trained individuals acting as a first point of contact for those that need mental health support in the workplace, accredited by Mental Health England.

Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. CALM exists to change this – by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together to reject living miserably. The money the charity raises will fund the charity’s vital work including their helpline and webchat which is available 365 days a year offering practical suggestions for all of life’s problems – whether that’s anxiety, relationship concerns, health worries, money worries or suicidal thoughts. This service currently receives on average 28,000 calls a month, as well as the campaigning CALM does across the UK.

Robin Jackson, Managing Director, said: “We are thrilled to be announcing our partnership with CALM because we really believe in their cause. Knowing that funds will be used to improve the lives of people living with mental health problems throughout the UK gives us loads of motivation to raise as much money as we can. Mental health has always been a priority for us, and we’re excited to be able to support that further with this collaboration.”

CEO Sleepout in Bristol raises £35,000

November 2023

CEO Sleepout Bristol raises £35,000

For most of us, homelessness is unimaginable. We take for granted that we’ll be able to meet our daily needs of safety, food, shelter, and companionship without facing incredible obstacles. But every day, thousands of people awake without shelter or a regular address.

On 27th November, 35 big hearted compassionate individuals rocked up at Gloucestershire Cricket Ground in Bristol for an experience to remember!

Hearing from the Right Honourable Lord of Bristol, Paul Goggin, BillyChip and Help Bristol’s Homeless Cic with hard hitting statistics and conversation it strengthened determination to bed down in the 3 degree November night!

In England, more than 274,000 people are currently experiencing homelessness. This means that one in every 206 people in the country are living without a stable home. Of course, it’s important to remember that these figures could be even higher, as many people are missed from homelessness records by being out of view.

We are delighted to learn that we helped raise £35,000, these funds raised will help fight poverty and homelessness through the amazing work of some lifechanging charities.
