Case Study
Acting on the behalf of Harbour Housing on an in house project, Taylor Lewis assisted with the delivery of a total of 7 self contained individual units in a regeneration project of a detached home neighbouring Cosgarne Hall in St Austell. The project has been made possible by the Homelessness Winter Transformation Fund from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Homeless Link and Housing Justice. Little Cosgarne is and will play a vital part in reducing the demand on Cornwall’s hospitals by providing accommodation and a safe discharge pathway for people who would otherwise face homelessness or rough sleeping. The property has wheelchair accessible bedrooms with turning spaces, with an accessible outdoor patio area and pathway that leads down to Harbour’s smallholding and animals. All bedrooms have walk in showers, shower seats, call points, grab rails, and the upstairs is accessible by a stairlift. Specialist features such as pillow shakers have been added to aid those with hearing impairments, and the entire scheme will be able to accommodate up to seven people at one time.
