A mixed tenure sustainable eco-development

Sovereign Housing, working in partnership with Torbay Council, delivered this award winning flagship mixed tenure sustainable eco-development in Torquay.

Previously a 4.6 acre brownfield site providing a mix of tenures. The scheme attracted a Homes and Communities Agency grant, which comprised of 139 units 25 of which were apartments for people over 55 looking to downsize and 8 bespoke wheelchairadapted homes.

Beechfield View is a multi-award winning scheme having triumphed at the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards and was ranked one of the Top 50 UK Affordable Housing Developments by Inside Housing and endorsed by the Homes and Communities Agency.

Beechfield View was also recognised for its “astonishing achievement” when it won in the Best Starter Home Category at the What House awards and then went on to win the Michelmores Annual Property Awards 2014 Residential Project of the Year 41 units and over.
